roughly 40 years from today we'd be watching the telly with our three dogs (and maybe even a pitbull) and we'd be holding hands. we'd laugh at when we were young and idealistic and got carried away and forgot. but we'd remember and laugh ourselves silly because we made it. because we made something that didn't extinguish or go away. 

that would never happen though, since you're adamant about dying before the clock strikes mid-life, before you acquire a beer belly and before my request for you to fund a face-lift. still my proposition stands: grow old with me. i'll buy you more straw hats and you'll be the sexiest senior citizen alive.

long weekends

today we went to a stripey happy place that made no sense. i had this squid ink seafood rice thing. jl liked it cos it tasted like cheese. but i was pretty turned off by the colour. imagine a huge lump of gooey black rice........... in any case, i really think we ought to skip dessert for the rest of the month because i am growing sideways at an alarming rate. yesterday we went to a russian restaurant that was sleepy and nice. i liked it a lot because they served (good) food in nice portions, which jl claimed credit for - my salmon steak being once his pet.

i think we're going to die from fatness very soon. but at least we'll die happy.
